At SCC Toyota, we believe a business is only as strong as the people behind it. This month, our board of directors spent three days on the road, visiting each of our three retailers to celebrate the company’s success over the last 12 months.
At every stop, we invited our teams to come together and share in that success with free pizza, while the board talked through a presentation on how well the business has performed this year. None of it would have been possible without the people in the room.
To make these celebrations stand out, we also took the opportunity to recognise the long service anniversaries of some of our employees.
Celebrating Loyalty That Drives Us Forward
We were incredibly proud to celebrate 17 members of our SCC Toyota family who have reached Long Service milestones, with time served ranging from 10 years right through to an incredible 45 years with the business.
Awards were presented by Nigel Burke, our owner and non-executive chairman, and Debbie Jenkins, our HR manager, recognising decades of hard work, expertise and dedication across our Yeovil, Taunton and Roundswell sites. Between them, our 17 winners have clocked up an astonishing 369 years of combined service.
Robert “Bob” Aird – Driver – 10 years
Known to many as Bob, Robert has spent 10 years as a driver at Taunton, keeping our vehicles and customers moving, and regularly receives glowing feedback from the customers he looks after. Thank you, Bob, for your hard work and reliability.
Paul Watts – Sales Manager – 12 years
Paul has spent 12 years with SCC Toyota, starting out as a sales executive and working his way up to sales manager to now lead our Yeovil sales team, a thoroughly well-deserved achievement. He’s helped countless customers on their journey to a new car, and supported his colleagues along the way. Thank you, Paul, for everything you do.
Jane Toms – Aftersales Bookings Assistant – 12 years
Jane has been with us for 12 years as our aftersales booking’s assistant at Yeovil, helping customers
Jonathan “Vinny” Vincent – Technician – 18 years
Jonathan has spent 18 years as a technician at Yeovil, keeping our customers’ cars running safely and reliably. Thank you, Jonathan, for your skill and dedication in the workshop.
Oliver Soden – Sales Advisor – 18 years
For 18 years, Oliver has helped customers find the right Toyota for their needs. Cut him in half and it would say Toyota — his passion for the brand extends to his own Toyota Supra. Thank you, Oliver, for the experience you’ve created for so many customers.
Paul Thomas – Operations Director – 20 years
Paul started out as a sales executive and has worked his way up to operations director over his 20 years with SCC Toyota. His leadership and commitment have helped shape the business we are today. Thank you, Paul, for two decades of dedication to our customers and colleagues.
Jason Lafferty – Managing Director & Owner – 20 years
Jason has given 20 years of service to SCC Toyota and now leads the business as our managing director and owner. Thank you, Jason, for two decades of commitment and vision.
Terrence Crook – Driver aka unsung hero – 20 years
Terrence is a driver at Roundswell, but that’s only part of the story. He also keeps the building clean, makes sure the staff and coffee areas are always stocked, and takes on countless other jobs that keep the site running smoothly. Twenty years in, he’s our unsung hero. Thank you, Terrence, for everything you do, seen and unseen.
Paul Chamberlain – Parts Manager – 20 years
Paul has spent 20 years with our Yeovil team and now manages our parts department, making sure our technicians have what they need to get customers back on the road. He’s so well known to our customers that he’s practically part of the furniture. Thank you, Paul, for two decades of hard work and loyalty.
Lindsey Larkman – Sales Advisor – 21 years
Lindsey is one of our most recognised members of staff, she has spent 21 years helping customers find the right Toyota as a sales advisor, and has recently moved across to our sister site, SCC Approved. Since returning from maternity leave, she has settled in brilliantly and is doing a great job. Thank you, Lindsey, for two decades of dedication to our customers and colleagues.
Daniel Balment – Technician – 25 years
Daniel is approaching 25 years as a technician at Roundswell, helping keep our customers safe and confident on the road. Thank you, Daniel,
Jane Toms – Aftersales Bookings Assistant – 12 years

Anne-Marie Sales – Head of Accounts – 26 years
For 26 years, Anne-Marie has led our accounts department, keeping the finances behind every deal running smoothly. Her work behind the scenes helps make sure our customers’ buying experience is a good one. Thank you, Anne-Marie, for your dedication to our customers and colleagues.
Sharron Roskelly – Head of Sales Admin – 26 years
Sharron is our head of sales admin and the glue that holds our sales process together. From invoicing cars to making sure every document is ready, her work behind the scenes has helped thousands of customers enjoy a smooth handover. Julian Toms – Aftersales Call Centre Manager – 40 years
Forty years is an extraordinary milestone. Julian manages our aftersales call centre, handling the bookings that keep our workshops busy and our customers on the road. Thank you, Julian, for four decades of dedication.
Antony Keitch – Parts Manager, Taunton – 45 years
Antony is our longest serving colleague, and 45 years of service is a truly remarkable achievement. As parts manager at Taunton, he has spent more than four decades making sure our technicians have what they need to keep our customers’ cars safe and reliable. Thank you, Antony, for your knowledge, your loyalty and everything you’ve given to this business.

That’s decades of expertise, dedication, and genuine care poured into every customer interaction, every sale, and every car that’s rolled off our forecourt. Businesses aren’t built on cars and buildings. They’re built on people, and ours have stuck with us through it all.
